What Attached Pad Does—and Does Not Do
Attached backing can improve sound, comfort, and installation convenience. It does not correct an uneven subfloor, replace required moisture control, or automatically allow another underlayment underneath. Adding unapproved underlayment can create excess movement and place stress on locking joints. Follow the product’s written installation instructions.
Why Carton Coverage Matters
Vinyl plank is purchased in complete cartons. After measuring the rooms and adding an appropriate waste allowance, the required amount must be divided by the product’s square feet per box and rounded up.
